Quick start

This app turns the paperwork around a fit-out job into one place you control — from a quotation document, to ordering materials, to seeing whether the job made money. Here's everything you need to get going. You won't break anything by clicking around.

1. Signing in & getting your bearings

  • Go to idp.ethanseow.com, enter your email and password. (If you've turned on two-factor login, you'll type a 6-digit code from your phone next.)
  • You land on the home screen — a grid of tiles. Click any tile, or use the menu along the top to move around.
  • The 🌙 / ☀️ button (top right) switches between light and dark — your choice sticks.

2. The big one: turn a quotation document into a quote

This is the feature that saves you a day of typing.

  1. Click Quotes in the top menu.
  2. Scroll down to “Import a BOQ → grouped quote.”
  3. Type a project name (e.g. the client and the site).
  4. Under Drop a BOQ PDF, click Choose File, pick your PDF, then Extract from PDF.
  5. Wait a few seconds. The app reads every line of the document and organises it into sections, sub-totals and a grand total — automatically.
No PDF? Paste the rows as a spreadsheet into the box on the right and click Build from CSV instead.

3. Check the quote

  • You're taken to the BOQ view: a tidy summary (each section's total adding up to the grand total) with every line underneath.
  • A few lines might have an orange “verify trade” tag — the app wasn't 100% sure how to categorise them. Just pick the right option from the little dropdown. It remembers your choice, so it won't ask about that line again next time.
  • Happy with it? Download PDF gives you a clean, branded copy to send the client.

4. Send it — and win the job

  • Back on Quotes, click Open on your quote.
  • Send to client marks it sent. When they say yes, click Mark accepted — that turns it into a job (a “SOW”) with a payment schedule.

5. Keep track of your stock

  • Open Carpentry ▾ → Warehouse.
  • See what you have on hand and what's running low. Record stock coming in or going out with the Record event form.
  • Running low on something? Draft reorder POs starts the purchase order for you.

6. Run your jobs

  • Carpentry ▾ → Job board shows each fabrication job and the stage it's at (cutting → assembly → finishing → done).
  • Approvals is your safety net: anything that goes out — an order to a supplier, a reply to a customer — waits here for you to approve first. Nothing is sent behind your back.

7. Buying materials & getting the best price

  • Procurement ▾ → Purchase orders & bills — your POs and the bills against them.
  • RFQ — ask several suppliers for prices: create a request, invite them by email (they get a link — no account needed), then Compare their quotes side by side and accept the best one.
  • Historical import — upload your old quotes and supplier bills. The app learns your real prices and starts suggesting them, so future quotes get faster and sharper.

8. Did the job make money?

  • P&L — pick a project to see what you're charging versus what it's costing, and your margin.
  • Forecast — your pipeline of likely upcoming work.

9. Your team

  • Team — add colleagues by email and choose what each person is allowed to do.
  • Security (2FA) — two-factor login is available here if you want extra protection (optional for now).

A few things worth knowing

  • The more old quotes and supplier bills you feed in (Historical import), the smarter the price suggestions become — it pays off the more you use it.
  • Every line you verify on a BOQ is remembered, so the app asks you fewer questions over time.
  • Nothing goes to a client or supplier without you approving it first — check Approvals now and then.
  • You really can't break anything by exploring. Have a click around.
